Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
	Panel Discussion
	1:35pm

The Excellent Care for All Act (ECFAA), was passed June 2010, and has been referred to as a landmark piece of legislation for Ontario. This legislation requires that every Ontario hospital:

Establish a quality committee to report on quality-related issues

Develop an annual quality improvement plan and make it available to the public

Link executive compensation to the achievement of targets set out in the quality improvement plan

 Conduct patient/care provider satisfaction surveys

 Conduct staff surveys

Develop a patient declaration of values following public consultation, if such a document is not currently in place

Establish a patient relations process to address and improve the patient experience

The annual QIP needs to include patient and employee survey results, critical incident data, along with annual performance improvement targets and the extent to which executive compensation is linked to the achievement of targets.

This panel discussion will highlight how hospitals are meeting the new legislation, how they are bringing the data and targets together into an informative Quality Improvement Plan. They will share how Decision Support is an integral part of the process and how all this information can be shared
	with the public.

Lean Healthcare Leadership and Strategy Workshop

For all their intrinsic value, almost 60% of Lean implementations fail due to the lack of an effective strategy for sustainable Lean deployment and cultural development. Our 1-day workshop provides healthcare leaders with the opportunity to assess where their organizations are on the Lean journey and develop a framework for Lean leadership and a strategy that ensures sustainable process improvement.

The workshop is structured around the four pillars on which a sustainable Lean deployment rests - initiating and driving change, mobilizing commitment, meaningful implementation and ongoing sustainment. It develops an understanding of the importance and necessity of integrating Lean into strategic planning and organizational alignment, and provides the tools and methods to ensure successful Lean implementation and sustainability.

The workshop will take place on May 26th in Toronto, Canada. For further information on the event or to register, please view the event brochure.

	Cost: Free

	Introduction

The purpose of this VMI Seminar is to provide you with an understanding of how VMI tools can assist you in reducing your Inventory costs by up to 30% by carrying out the following 6 steps.

 Iintroduce consignment stock purchasing

 Pay as you use

 Let Vendor manage your inventory

Prevent stock outs & expiration date issues

 Implement cutting edge technology

Share online info with vendor to apply just in time supply chain management.

In addition we will provide an example of the simplicity of installing a VMI like Genesis. We will also cover an operator interface and show a short video highlighting the user friendliness of such a system.

	Overview of topics being presented

Noel O’Hanlon is the Managing Director of Genesis Automation. Noel has over thirty years of distribution and software experience. Noel was the distributor for J.D.Edwards in Western Australia and so has extensive experience of ERP requirements for inventory management. As part of the Noel’s experience with their distribution company IPT, a requirement was spotted for customers trying to manage the supply chain by adopting Lean techniques for just in time stock management – i.e. consignment and VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) control. Most customers manage this area manually resulting in stock-outs, over stocks and expiration date issues and so on. Genesis is designed to prevent all of these errors occurring and reduce the cost of inventory ownership by up to 30% and provide increased business to the vendors.
