This 13-week Diploma in Lean Financial Services - Lean Green Belt program provides an understanding on the theory and also the efficient application of Lean tools, practices, and concepts. Commitment and support for Lean in any organization needs to come from the top down for support, and from the bottom up for implementation. With this in mind, the certification program is appropriate for a diverse range of employees. These employees may work for any organization within the financial services sector and include:

Upon successful completion of the Lean Green Belt certification program, professionals will achieve proficiency in both understanding and applying the concepts, tools, and practices associated with Lean Thinking.
The program has been designed by the Leading Edge Group in association with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA). The CPA awards 30 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) structured hours to successful participants.

This program is certified by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA). The CPA has signed mutual recognition agreements with CGA Canada.
The Lean Green Belt certification program is made up of the following nine lessons:
- Introducing Lean Thinking
- Lean Thinking and Financial Services
- Lean Tools and Practices I
- Lean Tools and Practices II
- Value Stream Mapping
- Kaizen
- 5S
- Introducing Lean Sigma
- The Roadmap to Lean Implementation
The program is available as an online learning program for individuals and therefore can be undertaken from any location with Internet access. Participants receive access to a Learning Management System portal from where they can log in at any time and launch each lesson, take practice exams, view and download online resources, and interact with fellow students and experts via a Lean discussion forum. Expert mentoring support via email is also provided from this portal.
The program can equally be delivered as an onsite program in your facility. A Leading Edge Group facilitator will spend five days on site and impart a practical and project-based learning approach to the certification process. Maximum classroom size is 14.

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland
The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA) is one of the largest Irish accountancy bodies with in excess of 5,000 members and students. The CPA is a founding member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the global organization of accounting professionals comprised of 157 member bodies in 123 countries and representing 2.5 million accountants in every sector. The CPA designation is the most commonly used designation worldwide for professional accountants, and the Institute’s qualification enjoys world-wide recognition. Its current membership base represents public practice, industry, financial services, and the public sector in over 28 countries. The Institute has a mutual recognition agreement with Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA), representing 70,000 professional accountants and students across Canada and around the world.
The assessment model that exists for the program is based on two components:
- Continuous assessment (50%)
- Journals of Learning (15%)
- Program of Assignment (35%)
- Final on-line examination (50%)
